Facundo Fierro and the 19 Orca Sculptures of Lanzarote (2010)

In December 2010, Europa Press documented a project of nineteen orca-shaped sculptures installed in Lanzarote with the goal of raising awareness about the importance of the marine environment. Participating artists included Facundo Fierro, Ildefonso Aguilar, Elena Lecuona, and Pepe Dámaso.

The project connects to a piece from Fierro's own design portfolio, "Orca," conceived for the Loro Parque Foundation in Puerto de la Cruz, Tenerife, and confirms an environmental and collective dimension in his sculptural work that complements his individual interventions in public spaces throughout the Canary Islands.
