Escultura Raíces de Facundo Fierro en el Cruce Capote, La Palma

"Roots" sculpture, by Facundo Fierro, at the Capote junction in La Palma

At the Capote Junction, on the island of La Palma, stands "Raíces," a fifteen-meter-tall Corten steel sculpture by Facundo Fierro. It shares scale and material with "Alianza" in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, as part of the artist's largest sculptural body of work in public spaces.

The piece joins the collection of Fierro's interventions on La Palma, an island with which he maintains a direct family connection and where he has developed much of his work on color and vernacular architecture, in addition to his sculpture on the Santa Cruz de La Palma bypass road.

To date, no external documentation has been located that specifies the exact year of the piece's installation; if that information becomes available, it will be incorporated in a future update of this entry.
