Facundo Fierro: When painting is a dialogue with history

As an example of how I share my brushstrokes day by day, I am beginning with the painting “Chronicles. Dialogues, 16,” which I interrupted in 2016 when I stopped using the website and Instagram, where I had only posted the first two images.

I find it interesting to restart that Dialogue, as a glimpse into my way of sharing my sensations.

The uncertainty, the lack of political clarity... That drift without a path made me abruptly turn off the TV during the news, and I ended up unloading my frustrations in brushstrokes like slaps against a large-format white canvas.

Day by day, upon a dark midnight blue, spots began to appear, slaps of impulsive colors...

People spoke of a King who was fading away amidst unexpected news, following what had been achieved during the Transition... with no clear future...

On the right side, where the dark night was, I began to ask the monarch who initially gave us hope during the 23F [attempted coup]...

What happened? Where are we going? ...and now what?

And little by little, his weary gaze emerged through brushstrokes.

The uncertain news continued, and I kept unloading onto his skin, into the furrows that were a trace of the years...

Light emerged from instinctive, colorful brushstrokes that gradually made his expression rise from the night blue.

What emerged, I will tell you next week. In the meantime, I leave you here with the first moments of this work.
